LOCATION​

ōku is set on a hill near Caldas de Monchique - a medicinal thermal springs' area, just 25 minutes drive from the Algarve golden beaches and Portimão city, 1.15 hr from Faro international airport and within 2 to 4 hours flight time from most European country.

The nearest town is Monchique - 7 minutes drive and there is a bus stop 3 minutes walk from the property.

ōku is accessible by regular road. Parking arrangements case by case.

THE HOUSE

 

ōku house is set for connection, reflection, and grounded living. The house features a spacious south-facing lounge with sea and mountain views, a fireplace, and plenty of room for group practices or shared meals. There's direct access to a large outdoor terrace, perfect for al fresco dining and stargazing around the firepit.

​

The bedrooms are located at the back of the house and in the attic, offering a sense of privacy and seclusion away from the main social areas.

​

A bright 70 sqm converted garage serves as a multipurpose studio filled with natural light — ideal for movement sessions, workshops, or large group gatherings.

 

Additional indoor amenities include a co-working - game open plan room, a communal guest bathroom, laundry room and a fully equipped kitchen with SMEG appliances.

• ​1 master en-suite with separate closet/storage area and large private bathroom with bathtub (sleeps up to 3)

• 1 Double / Twin bedroom with direct access to the grounds (sleeps up to 2 people)

• 1 Small Double room (sleeps up to 2 people -. best sold as a private single room but can be booked for couples)

• 1 full large bathroom to serve Twin and Double bedrooms

Attic

• Attic Upper Level - 1 master bedroom with en-suite bathroom with hydromassage shower (sleeps up to 3 people)

• Attic Lower Level - 1 Large open plan room (sleeps 3 people but can be converted into group room up to 5 people) with a bathroom and hydromassage shower

Amazing views - above the clouds when misty. Sea view at the horizon from main veranda.

 

Main wild garden (back of the house):

Fruit trees, chill out spots, sun deck, sauna, ice tube and shower. Ideal for outdoor activites, star gazing and outdoor meals. Swimming pool is currently planned for this year.​

Forrest grouds:

Winding beyond the house is the Forest Hill — a wild, peaceful area for hiking, meditation, and quiet time in nature. Tucked within is the Rock Shelter, a large rock formation and a master oak tree where ritual ceremonies and picnics can be set. Ideal for meditation, forrest bathing and nature based activities.

Note - At ōku we love nature in its raw state - you will find our gardens to be mostly in their natural state (everchanging with the 4 seasons) and minimum landscapping work.
